We watched our 5th Shark of the day swim out of sight then lifted our heads in search of our boat. The boat was a good 80 metres away. The skipper then urgently yelled, "Group up." " Humpbacks behind you!" This wasn't in the tour plans. We weren't supposed to be in the path of on coming humpbacks. Nervously we watched them surface and dive through the water only metres away. What happened next was in slow motion. Our guide yelled "look down". Masks went in and less the 5 metres away were two humpbacks gliding right by us. It was a mother and calf. Their eyes were right on us as if they were as curious about us as we were about them. It was all so amazing and we survived! Theses are the best photos we could get. I can't imagine anything else will top this!
