As a family we all started surfing in Tasmania last year. We would surf Park Beach, a perfect little surf beach, calm, consistent, small break, about an hour from where we once lived. It was a perfect place for learning. Eventually winter hit in Tasmania and the seas darkened. The gentle surf was turned rough as did the sea. The surf board and body board were tucked up into the garage rafters for the winter until our trip.
The break in Greenough is created by numerous reefs off shore so the shallow waters go out far. Sharing a board, we all had a go..Judy was the star and made it look easy. I got up and same with Mr. M but not for long. Mr. C preferred the body board but had no issues standing on the surfboard.
Best part of the surf beach....the small take away shop on the way home. $12.00 bought a delectable cray roll (lobster sub). What a treat.
