Invincible On The Sea

Mr.Invincible in Lycra

What is in bikini fashion on the beaches of the Coral Coast? Full body Lycra suits known as THE STINGER SUIT! (And it might just save your life). As the threat of crocs in the far North disappear, the deadly Stingers become the concern. Between October through May from Exmouth WA to Gladston Qld, the warm water brings in the deadly box jellyfish and the tiny Irukandji jellyfish. These are known in Australia as Stingers. They are justifiably terrorizing. Within minutes of a box jellyfish sting death is surly eminent. Surviving a box jelly fish sting would be considered a medical miracle. The  Irukandji is a different story. These tiny almost invisible jellyfish run in schools numbering the thousands. So small that they are rarely seen. Not too often does fatality occur (two deaths to date in Aus). However permanent damage and ongoing health issues are common for the term of the victums lives. This is known as Irukandji syndrome.
Many of Australian beaches are enclosed in nets and have vinegar placed in prominent positions. Vinegar is used in the first aid of a jellyfish sting to disable any detached stinging tenicles still on the skin.
So not only does Australia have the deadly crocs and poisonous snakes, but deadly jellyfish too.
