Hook Island Resort

Hook Island Resort was a casual stopover en route to Boarder Island. With the cheapest mooring fee of all the Whitsunday's resorts ($25.00), you can visit and use all facilities at the resort. The place was a bit rough compared to the upmarket resorts such as Hamilton Island or Lindermen Island's Club Med but perfect for a lazy day. After a swim in the pool, a visit to the underwater observatory (closed since cyclone Yasi), and a fish feeding frenzy off of the jetty, we settled into a hammock on the beach tied between two palm trees and listened to the splashing of the waves and a gentle cooling breeze. This is as good as it gets.
