The elusive Barramundi was just that up until the evening of the second night when I took my first cast of the trip. The tangled line stopped the lure short and sent it sideways and backwards instead of the intended forward direction landing it into a clump of lily pads where it was certain to get stuck. Panicking I gave the line a whopping jerk. The barra hit and hook came just after that.
Mark had been fishing diligently for two full days with no results and witnessed my lame cast and my prized catch and the shear luck of it all. Good thing he made a recovery with a bigger barra the next day:)
