We were hard pressed to demote El Questro Falls as our number one swimming hole. Instead we decided to make it a tie. This is Barramundi Fall in Kakadu. Because of the 10 Km very corrugated road entrance you might just find yourselves alone here. Sweet! An easy 2 Km walk from the car park will take you to the falls but if you venture out and take the secrete goat track on the left of the stream you will be richly rewarded with the magical pools above the falls. They are seemingly something out of a dream. Here you can plunge from the guardian rocks above, slide down a small water fall, even dive down a metre or so and swim through a underwater archway coming up into a private pristine pool on the other side of a rock wall. Just Magical.
