With another unfulfilled promise of rain and thundershowers from the weatherman, we headed to Canarvon Gorge. The supposed flash flooding and torrential down pours promised weren't going to happen as promises of rain were made daily since entering into Queensland. Neither caravan park or campgrounds near the national park would allow dogs so out of desperation we became caravan outlaws. We found a off the beaten path (maybe illegal) a out of sight hidden spot to park for the night. It in fact was a gravel pit. Early morning was presenting a blue sky and we headed up the gorge to see some of the reknown Canarvon National Park. A 14km round trip walk and we saw some spectacular sites, the ominous chasms, wildlife, clear pools, and rock art.
