Spookies Surf Beach has earned the name for two reasons. One is that the surf is big and rocks and reef fill the shallow waters infront of the surf break but secondly because of the giant sharks that prowl the area. We watched this surfer at Spookies take off on a humungus wave then bail out only seconds later.. His day was done as he paddled onto the rocks with a fraction of the original board.
