Angourie Point- Surfing Reserve

The first ever surfing reserve in Australia is here at Angourie Point NSW.  Known as one of the best surf breaks in Australia, it would be expected that you might find a steady stream of crazed dudes in wet suits piled high on the cliff mesmerized by the emerald green swells sauntering towards the white sandy shore.

The Southern side of the point is a gentle beach know as Back Beach. The northern corner is sheltered by a rocky bluff. Perfect for the novice surfer with a small and consistent break. Head south along the beach and the swells swell to a impressive size breaking right and left  tempting  the intermediate surfer sand sporting a booming local scene.. For the experienced and adrenaline crazed, the northern side of the point will call and not disappoint. Starting with a hair raising jump off the rocks to enter the water and the rocky shallow bottom for a harsh and dangerous finish. Helmets aren't frowned upon here.
Surfing here makes for a great spectator sport with a tinge of danger in the air.
