GBR- The Great Barrier Reef

Missy J ready to take on the Great Barrier Reef!

As the one of the seven wonders of the natural world, the GBR has a big title to live up too. We visited three of the best spots on the reef and a bit off the typical tourist track. Leaving out of Port Douglas and visiting reef  from a  smaller boat that are permitted to visit spots that are protected from the masses. Great trip and a beautiful reef however we all agreed that Ningaloo wins our vote for the best reef in Australia .  The water wasn't as clear here, the winds were ferocious, the fish were sparse, and the two hour cruise for the three hours of snorkeling seemed too hard.. It was all a overmarketted touristy adventure.  Regrettably our advice would be to head to Ningaloo WA for a better snorkeling experience.

Kids have more fun diving off the back of the boat then diving the reef.
