Whale Shark Photos

Each Whale Shark has it's own unique dot pattern much like finger prints. These are now used to track and count each shark.
That's Me looking rather insignificant.
This one was 8 metres long. Lucky for us Whale Sharks are filter feeders. Their mouths can be as big as a metre wide.
This shark is so big that a vurtual moving reef is created where tag along fish take shelter and feed off the parasites that live on the shark.

Jealous as all get out about the whales, Wendy! You have some good shot of the whale sharks here - not easy to do when in the snotty water. We got to swim with one off Ningaloo on our honeymoon...seems forever ago :)

Liz, I had no idea you were a blogger. Your blog looks awsome.
Sharks were so memorable as you know. You'll have to take Mr. F when he is old enough. I am sure you won't miss the opportunity to show him all the very cool stuff in Australia.
