Thoroughbreds and The Mornington Peninsula

An early morning arrival off The Spirit Of Tasmania was welcomed. The crossing was rough and made sleeping difficult. We headed towards friends J and J's Thoroughbred farm on the Mornington Peninsula. The journey took us by some beautiful beaches just outside the city.
The road on the peninsula was lined on both sides with enormous looming gums. Tidy farms all with perfectly trimmed hedges and freshly painted fences dotted the landscape. The occasional vineyard nestled between the residential acreages added to the orderly lay of the land. No broken tractors here. No paint-chipped, faded, sagging fences. Not even a strand of loose barbed wire. I could live here.

J and J treated us to an excellent lamb roast dinner and a tour of the well bred, promising, racing stock. The kids toured the paddocks on motorbike which added to the fun. Fed, showered and rested, we headed out after a two night stay. Thanks J and J for your hospitality, We had a great time.
